I am a book blogger and the owner of Bookworm Blues - a popular speculative fiction book review website. I have been a compulsive reader all my life. Early on found my reading niche in the fantastic genre of Speculative Fiction. I blame my active imagination for the hobbies that threaten to consume my life. A freelance writer and photographer, world traveler and recent college graduate, I'm also a new mother, cancer fighter & survivor. In my ideal world, I'd do nothing but drink lots of tea and read from a never ending pile of speculative fiction books. Respected as a reviewer, I receive book ARCs from all of the major and most minor publishers in science fiction and fantasy. But given my love of stories, I've always wanted to be a part of the creative process, and editing is my first step in that direction.

SALE | Wars of Light and Shadows – Janny Wurts

I usually don’t post this sort of thing. I tend to think that news and press releases get passed on by enough other blogs out there that I’m really not needed to add my voice. However, on the occasion I make an exception. Like right now. I really admire Janny Wurts, and while I have…

The Rise of Ransom City – Felix Gilman

About the Book This is the story Harry Ransom. If you know his name it’s most likely as the inventor of the Ransom Process, a stroke of genius that changed the world. Or you may have read about how he lost the battle of Jasper City, or won it, depending on where you stand in…

Triumph Over Tragedy Guest Post | Michael J. Sullivan

I’m a huge Michael Sullivan fan. I loved his successful fantasy series (Riyria Revelations). He’s the self-published success most authors can only aspire toward. I’m thrilled he’s taking part in Triumph Over Tragedy. When I offered the authors taking part in the anthology the option to write a guest post on my blog, Michael was…

I was interviewed!

The title says it all. I’ve been interviewed. You can find parts I and II over of SFFWorld (the fact that I was interviewed for that huge website made my entire year, lemme tell you). This interview was an effort to bring more attention to Triumph Over Tragedy, so as always, check out this link…

Caliban’s War – James S.A. Corey

About the Book We are not alone. The alien protomolecule is clear evidence of an intelligence beyond human reckoning. No one knows what exactly is being built on Venus, but whatever it is, it is vast, powerful, and terrifying. When a creature of unknown origin and seemingly impossible physiology attacks soldiers on Ganymede, the fragile…

Ghost Planet – Sharon Fisher

About the Book Psychologist Elizabeth Cole prepared for the worst when she accepted a job on a newly discovered world—a world where every colonist is tethered to an alien who manifests in the form of a dead loved one. But she never expected she’d struggle with the requirement to shun these “ghosts.” She never expected to…

Author Interview | Lev A. C. Rosen

All Men of Genius was a book that really stuck with me, in part because I enjoyed it so much. Also because I really respected Rosen’s new take on a period in history that has been written about again….and again…. and again. I thought, when I read his book, that I’d love to interview him….

Romance. What’s it good for?

I am not one of those website owners who is good at discussing opinions. I don’t think I’ve ever waxed poetic about the future of speculative fiction or (insert cataclysmic, genre specific topic here). I’m not good at it. That, and I enjoy reading books more than pondering my navel. Anyway, Bastard Books asked me…

Congratulations to…

I was supposed to post the winner of this giveaway yesterday, but I suck at being timely these days so I’m announcing this one a little late. I had a lot of interest in my giveaway, and I sincerely thank everyone who stopped by my humble corner of the interwebs to enter the contest. Unfortunately,…
